What Does 721 Industries Actually Do?
I get asked this more than you would think.
The short answer? We build events.
721 Industries is an event production company based in Santa Barbara, California.
We work worldwide.
From an executive meeting for 50 people to a general session for 5,000, the job is the same: build the event around what needs to happen in the room.
Audio, video, lighting, staging, LED walls, cameras, live streaming, scenic, rigging and show crews. It's all part of what we do.
But we're not an AV rental company.
We don't just rent you equipment and leave you to figure out how everything works together.
We start with the event.
What are you trying to accomplish? What does the room need to look like? What does the audience need to see and hear?
Then we build the production around that.
Do you design the event too?
Yes.
We build every event in 3D before we load in.
Stage, screens, LED walls, lighting, scenic, cameras, audio, seating and sightlines.
We want to know what the room is going to look like before we get there.
Do you own the equipment?
Yes.
Audio, video, lighting, staging, LED walls and cameras.
Owning the equipment means we know what we have, how it works and how we're going to build the event before we get onsite.
What kind of events do you produce?
Corporate events are a large part of what we do, but they're not all we do.
Corporate meetings, conferences, general sessions, executive meetings, product launches and all-hands meetings.
We also produce concerts, festivals, graduations, groundbreakings, special events and live events of all sizes.
Different events. Same approach.
Where do you work?
Everywhere.
We're based in Santa Barbara and produce plenty of events throughout California.
We also work across the country and worldwide.
Santa Barbara is home. It's not our service area.
Are you an AV company or an event production company?
Event production company.
There is a difference.
An AV company typically provides audio, video, lighting equipment and the technicians needed to operate it.
A production company is responsible for the event.
That starts before we ever get onsite.
Pre-production, 3D design, site visits, staging, audio, lighting, LED walls, projection, rigging, power, cameras, multi-camera video, IMAG, live streaming, event recording, hybrid events and presentation management are all part of production.
Then there are the people.
Stage managers, show callers, technical directors, video directors, camera operators, graphics and playback operators, producers and the technicians running each department.
An AV company typically provides technicians to operate the equipment.
A production company provides the people responsible for running the show.
That's the difference.
And it's why comparing an AV quote to a full event production quote isn't really comparing the same thing.
We don't just rent equipment. We build events.
